First off, I would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to Flight 3407, which tragically crashed on February 13, 2009. Fire Companies throughout the Western New York area are stunned with its close proximity to home. Other fire companies were faced with the challenge of dealing with this extraordinary situation on an otherwise ordinary day. Throughout this heartbreaking accident, we reaffirm our principle of being prepared for any situation. We continue to train often so that if a situation arises we will be able to perform our duty to the best of our ability.
On a lighter note, I would like to remind you to drive safely and defensively. The fewer accidents there are the better for all of us. Spring is just around the corner, but as we all know, weather in buffalo can change in an instant. Please be aware of road conditions and temperature changes that may impair driving abilities, and take flooded roadways cautiously.
Last but certainly not least I would like to extend an invitation to you to join our organization. If you wish to serve your community and are at least 18 years old, join us as an active firefighter or EMS provider. We are also actively looking for young adults between the ages of 16-18 years old to enroll as Jr. Firefighters. This entails learning the skills and knowledge necessary to become a firefighter as well as hands-on experience. No matter your age, the fire company is an excellent way to give back to your community and help others in their time of need. If you are interested call (716) 652-1674 or go to our web site at www. Firematicly Yours,
